I painted this when I thought of you- Progression

I like to start my pieces with a textured background of brushstrokes. Here, I wanted to create an illuminating effect that would peek behind abstracted forms.

The second step was more difficult than the first because I had to figure out a way to mingle the abstraction and the branch figure. The orientation of this piece really dictated the movement of how each layer interacted with another.

The linear elements provided a good balanced quality to the overall piece. The color usage of the lines unified the composition and color palette used.
